Summit Trail Middle School offers athletics throughout the school year to enrich our students' school experience. 6th graders participate in short, fun seasons, and our 7th and 8th graders compete as independent grade level teams in the Kent/Tahoma middle school league. 6th graders are also invited to participate in Wrestling and Cheer.

Zero Hour Futsal (Indoor Soccer)

March 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, & 26. 7:00 - 7:45 AM.

Jamboree information: Thursday, April 2nd in the big gym at Summit Trail. Jamboree starts at 3:30, parents are welcome to attend. Futsal students are allowed to stay after school and are supervised by coaching staff until the jamboree begins.

Cross-Country Club

March 24, 25, 26, 30, & 31. April 1. 2:30 - 4:30 PM

The cross-country race will take place at STMS on Thursday, April 2 from 3:30 - 4:30.

No payment required, registration on familyID and a current sports physical IS required.

6th Grade Sports

Five different sports are offered to our 6th grade students during the school year. The intent is to provide our incoming middle school students an opportunity to explore different sports without the concern of being cut. These are fun, short seasons followed by a jamboree against MVMS at the end of the season.

Practices will be held two days per week, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 7:00 am to 7:45 am. Athletes who wish to participate must wear appropriate shoes/clothing and provide their own transportation to each practice and have completed registration for each sport through Family ID.

In order to participate in sports, 6th grade students must:

  • Register for 6th grade athletics on FamilyID (one registration will cover the year for 6th grade sports)
  • Have an up-to-date sports physical on file
  • Purchase an ASB sticker ($30)

7th and 8th Grade Sports

Summit Trail Middle School students will compete as independent grade-level teams in the Kent/Tahoma League. Each quarter there will be at least one sport offered for boys and one sport offered for girls. Students who wish to participate must purchase an ASB card from the cashier or through InTouch Online Payments, complete the online sports registration, have a sports physical on file and pay all outstanding fines:  InTouch Online Payments.  Students must provide their own transportation home after practices and games.

Non-cut sports (football, dance, wrestling and track) require the participation fee to be paid prior to attending practice.

Cut sports (volleyball, badminton, basketball, soccer, baseball and fastpitch) require ASB card, completion of the online sports registration, have a sports physical on file and pay all outstanding fines: InTouch Online Payments. Tryouts will be held the first three days of practice. Those who make the team will have one week to pay the participation fee.
